Frequently asked questions
- Do I need OBS WebSocket enabled?
- Yes. OBS Studio 28.0 and later include the WebSocket server built-in. Go to Tools → WebSocket Server Settings and enable it. Earlier versions require the community obs-websocket plugin.
- Can I control OBS on a different computer?
- Yes, as long as both computers are on the same local network and the firewall allows the OBS WebSocket port (default 4455).
- Which OBS versions are supported?
- OBS Studio 28.0+ with native WebSocket support is recommended. Earlier versions work with the community obs-websocket plugin.
- What happens if OBS is not running when I press the button?
- The action will show a failure in your Activity Log. You can add a delay or retry node in your Conductor Deck workflow if needed.
- Can I run a raw WebSocket command through Conductor Deck?
- Yes. The WebSocket Command action lets you send any OBS WebSocket request type (such as SetCurrentProgramScene or TriggerHotkeyByName) with custom JSON parameters.
